Sunset Date for SnapPlus 2
Beginning with the 2028 planning season, all nutrient management plans must be developed and submitted in SnapPlus V3. The V2 desktop application itself will not be removed from users’ computers and may still open and function locally, but its mapping and data transfer abilities to and from SnapMaps will no longer be available.
This will be effective July 1, 2027.
You will still be able to convert your V2 database to V3 after July 1, 2027.
For tutorials on how to transition to and use V3 effectively, please see the SnapPlus V3 training series on YouTube here: SnapPlus V3 Videos – YouTube
SnapPlus V2 is retiring as part of the planned transition to SnapPlus V3. The contract for the server supporting V2 SnapMaps expires in the summer of 2027 and will not be renewed. As a result, users should plan to transition their work to V3 ahead of the deadline. We recommend reviewing your saved V2 databases and downloading from SnapMaps as needed before July 1, 2027.
One important exception to keep in mind is the Silurian Bedrock Performance Standard. Plans subject to those requirements must be submitted via V3 and in compliance prior to April 1, 2027. For more information regarding updating NMP’s to meet Silurian requirements click here to access a DATCP webinar recording and slides.
Please plan accordingly and share these deadlines with staff and planners you work with.
